Come and watch The Tour de France live on 11th to 13th July . See all the stars ride right past our chalet the cols and enjoy the rest day the riders have in morzine. the atmosphere will be fantastic !
Les Gets is a fantastic base for road cycling. You can cover miles of fabulous mountain roads and cols through the Portes du Soleil or do a section of the centenary Tour de France which came through Les Gets in July 2007. For variety the Chablais Pre-Alps offers rolling countryside and flatland rides for those achy days. We can drop/collect you in different locations to allow you to explore more of the Haute Savoie by road in non circular routes. We have got a secure garage for storing your bikes in and a fabulous chef to provide you with any carb loading you require for the next days col! King of the Cols! If you want to feel like Lance Armstrong, you will need to be leg strong! Col de Ramaz: as seen on the Tour de France 2003, circular route from Les Gets. A demanding 14km hill climb passing through picturesque alpine hamlets summiting at the beautiful winter ski resort of Pras de Lys. Stop at the top for a fantastic view of Mont Blanc and the surrounding Alps whilst enjoying the ambience of this pretty resort over a cuppa tea or cool beer. Col de Corbiere: circular route from Les Gets. This fabulous route takes you from the Valley de Dranse to the Valley d'Abondance over a grueling climb past some typical alpine farms with cattle grazing the meadows. There is a smashing café/restaurant on top of the col where you can recuperate in style. Avoriaz Hill Climb: circular route from Les Gets. Buy your timer ticket from the tourist office in Morzine to clock your speed on this arduous 14km climb. At the top see the unusual architectural merit of Avoriaz before passing down through the goat farming village of Les Linderets and past the azure blue Lac de Montriond. Col de Joux Plane: circular route from Les Gets and a popular climb on the Tour de france , from the pretty medieval town of Samoens, a nice 50 minute /1 hour clime to the Joux plan where you can get a wellearnd drink at the lake before descending down to Morzine in spendid scenery Dranse/Lake Geneva/Valley Verte: Circular route from Les Gets.. Two stunning valleys and the rolling Chablais Pre-Alps in one day! These are only some suggested routes but the possibilities are endless!
